Barlings Solar Farm will help combat climate change and improve the UK’s energy security by generating clean, renewable energy. The solar farm would have an approximate capacity of 49.9MW. This is equivalent to meeting the annual electricity needs of approximately 13,500 average UK homes. It would also offset approximately 8,100 tonnes of CO2e each year, this is the equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions from 1,900 petrol-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year.
